New Toy

Called vPost on Wed to enquire more about the delivery timing.... just so I could try to make sure that mum was around to receive it. If I missed this delivery, I would have to wait till Sat to get it from the post office but I was too excited to wait till weekend to try my loots! But their response was exactly like what hubby told me earlier on. If only hubby still working there, he'd have performed the same stunt he did 3 years ago - I bought a set of clip-on hair extension from UK & wanted it urgently. So hubby monitored my shipment & once it reached the processing centre (not sure what exactly it's called), he intercepted & got it just before COB! :P

Anyway, I still got my new toys that evening! :D

My Friday look. Colleagues thought I permed my hair!
It's supposed to be curlier but I 'un-curled' a lil as preferred it that way for a start.
The colleagues said it looked nice! Hee.

Jose Eber Pro Series Clipless Curling Iron

So these are the 2 hair sprays that caused delay in having my parcel...

Sedu Moisturizing Heat Protecting Boost

Sedu Beach Beauty Sea Salt Spray
The coconut scent is soo nice to smell! And it's effective in keeping my curls.

After more than 12 hours, the curls still looked ok;).

Love how easy the curls can be achieved. Just couldn't do it right in the past when I used curlers with lots of curling lotion.

Difference?

The left pic was taken on 1 Jan 08 & the right was taken on 9 Feb 08.

Notice any thing that's unusually different between these 2 pix?

Yep! My hair! It's grown 12cm long in 5 weeks.

Ok, I've actually gone for hair extension a week before CNY. :)

When it's first done up, my new hair was much longer... below my waist. The amazing part was I didn't redo my hair color... the extension just match mine perfectly. Not a single one discovered it's not my own hair.

The following day I went for a trim so my own hair could blend in better. I requested to shorten the length a lil but the stylist refused to do it as she thought it's a waste to cut too much of the extended hair. I didn't insist as I somewhat agreed. However, early next morning when I looked in the mirror (even before I brushed my teeth!), I was convinced I wanted it shorter... perhaps by 1 or 2 cm as the ends seemed a bit wispy.

The silly me decided to take it into my own hands since no one's willing to cut for me. And yes, I wasn't spared from the most typical disaster of cutting own's hair. I should have known it, right? First, the left was shorter than the right. Then the right was shorter than the left, & this went on several times. So you imagine what's happened to my hair :( The intended 2cm had become 5 - 6cm... As I was cutting my hair, I was also cutting my money... Sobz~ And the worse was, it didn't turn out right. I nearly couldn't leave home with this 'work' of mine. Hubby was so sweet to console me instead of chiding or laughing at me. Would have left lousy for the entire day if without his reassuring words.

During lunch that day, I went back to where I did my extension to seek help. The girl could only do simple trimming but it's useful enough. At least she managed to soften my blunt ends. So, I got myself busy with my hair for 2 days.

I wonder why I always make boo boos with the things I do. Bleah...

So this was my waist-length hair before the trims

No more Chapter 2 again

I promise myself I'll never go back to this hair salon again. What a bad experience I had. Not once, but twice.

Looks more like paying $230 just for a haircut.

The first time (which was last year), I went there for hair treatment during lunch hours since it's very near my office, just opp Parco. Back in the office to realise my hair was only 80% dried!

This time, I listened to my colleague that this salon was good in rebonding & decided to give it a 2nd chance.

Same girl served me... who's SUPPOSED to be the top stylist there. And such a half-*ssed job took 4 hours!

When she "presented" her final work to me, I commented that there's a bunch on the right side not properly done. Or rather, looked as if it hadn't rebonded yet. Without examining she admitted (meaning she'd known it but kept quiet!?) but insisted that my hair was already very dry so she just brush the solution lightly & it'd definitely damage my hair if I were to redo it. What craps! She thought I was a newbie in rebonding? I had even done both perming & rebonding within a week before. I certainly know what kinda results to expect. And please, this bunch of hair is somewhat the same level with my brow, ie. those were the new hair without undergoing any chemical treatment before (that's why it's a lil wavy). She could have just told me outright she's only able to offer this type of sub-standard service.

Am tempted to insist on having it re-done. But I won't know what she'll do to my hair in order to prove herself 'right'. I may be overly worrisome but not gonna put my hair at stake.

I'll NEVER go back again. Even if it's free! Asked hubby to remind me if I ever forget, which is near impossible.

Miss Justina so much. But she'll only be back from maternity leave after CNY. Tears

And more errands

Lately, mum hardly sees us at home on Saturdays. We seem to have endless tasks to settle. We could be out as early as 10am & back not before 9pm, like any other weeknight.

The last one started with a visit to the nearest GP as I had a sty on my left eye. Thereafter, had lunch (MacDonald's) & next, to AMK Hub's supermarket... bought fruits for mum & some other stuff. She loves fruits & we'll try to replenish every other week so she doesn't have to lug a few kilos back from the market.

Then hubby went for his haircut appointment at this salon - Cut & Curl (June's recommendation) & while waiting, I opted for a herbal scalp treatment for myself. Consequently hubby waited an hour for me instead :P I think the treatment was quite good but after my hair was done, I smelled like a chinese herbs pot!

After spending 5 hours in AMK central, we went for a very early dinner at Aston's, Serangoon Gardens. Also rented some DVDs from Video Ezy... so we finally watched The Wedding Date together :)

Worth it

10 days ago I had an FOC fringe cut right?

Every single one around asked whether I cut my hair, changed hairstyle & had a new (hair) color. But all I did was just cutting my fringe.

Not bad.... a simple act could actually render such big, positive results.

Hair

A month ago, I meddled with my hair again. Stupid me.

Look what I've done.

Permed

Exactly 1 week later....

Straight

Heart pain! Nearly $400 in a week. Hubby insisted that I looked nice in that perm but I still think I looked old. He of course supported whatever decision I made eventually, which was soft rebonding. Justina said she didn't want to see me again in the next few weeks. My colleagues told me to remember never ever think of perming my hair again.

I should have known from the first experience. End 2005, I permed my long hair and a month later, I straightened it. This time even worse, I could tolerate no more than 1 week.

Only hubby can take my nonsense, very well indeed. Annoyed And Disappointed

What I Did Last Sunday

No doubt my original intention was to have a change... shortening it to shoulder-length was the most I would compromise I thought. However eventually gave in to the very persistant Justina. My long hair which I've kept for almost 10 years (of course with lotsa trimming & minor changes along the way)... gone with Justina's less-than-a-minute snipping & yet she's so excited about it ~sobz~ We then realised that she wasn't given a chance at all to cut my hair to this extent for the past 9 years. No wonder she got so high lah.

Hubby loves the new look; me... still adjusting to the bob. Imagine... been having long hair for sooo many years...

N E W

For those who haven't seen me for a long time, tis my new hairstyle! Eh... actually [new] for a month already.

1 of the tops I bought last Sun. Cheap & nice! Nearly missed it! Hehee....

Got this Anna Sui mascara last month. Strongly recommended by Justina (my beautiful hair-stylist)... with super lengthening power! Very ex @ $39 but nice huh??

Nouvelle coiffure

My new hairdo!

Had the 2nd perm in my life last week (the 1st during school days). Not used to the curly look at all as I fancy long straight hair.

Justina, the GREAT STYLIST behind all my hair works, of course knows my likes very well but still used all her persuading powers to convince me to have my mane permed... said she's sick of seeing me in the same hairstyle for sooooo many years... hng!

Turned out that my hubby loves my tresses & objects to my intention of straightening it... Well, as long as my honey likes it lor...
