And more damages ...

From our Seoul holiday.

1-for-1 so I got a total of 16 of them!  And the net price was only less than a quarter of what's retailed here.
Bought them as Christmas gift for our colleagues ;)

Skin 79 - another new love found in Korean skincare :P
And don't be shocked by this... the price was only 16% of what is sold here!!
This BB cream (in orange) is really good!

Skin79 BB Mousse which is so-so only.
And replenished my Skin Food Peach Sake Powder.  It's only a third of the price here, definitely worth stocking up from Korea.

Disappointingly, earrings were not as cheap as I thought they could be.  But still, bought quite a few pairs, for myself & for the nieces ;)

So generous in giving out samples. Just look at how much I've got from the trip!

IN

Bought this dress more than a year ago & am delighted to know that leopard print makes a comeback :) Or did I have foresight that it'll be the in item after a year? Haha.
Wore it to a wedding dinner last Monday (yes!! Wedding banquet on a MONDAY!!!)... still looked trendy! ;)
Love the V-shape low back!

D Day

We took a day's leave last Wed & saw 3 doctors.  To be exact, I visited a dentist, met an aesthetic doctor & consulted a Chinese doctor.

As I suddenly had an extra sensitve tooth, hubby helped make a last minute appointment with his dentist friend.  After my dental appointment in Novena, I took the chance to fix my long overdue facial treatment appointment since it's in the same premise.  There, I bumped into my dermatologist & we chatted a bit, even exchanged some TCM info..

As we're very near Orchard, we went Ion & in 2 hours, we'd lunch, bought some skincare products/daily necessities & a dress before rushing back to see TCM physician near home.

Though rush rush from place to place & filled with kinda stressful activities (saw so many doctors in a day!!), I managed to buy 3 dresses & that's a consolation :)

Le Bunny Bleu

Last Fri a colleague launched her Le Bunny Bleu début in Singapore at MAAD Pyjamas which was held at Red Dot Design Museum.

I bought a pair of leather boat shoes.  Very comfy ...

Well In Advance

A fruitful trip!

Bought mum a very very early birthday gift (her BD is end Aug!) as she's been complaining about her handbags to us & sis.
Ok, we got the hint.
After discussing with sis, we decided to get her now since she needs 1.
And hubby bought me a bag too! :D

Much time was spent in looking for the right gift for mum & very glad that she likes it.  Hubby bought a pair of shoes from Pedro & I, a few pieces from FEP.  So it's indeed a fruitful trip for all of us ;)

After shopping, we'd tea & some bites at Dome, Dempsey.  Good chillout time of 2 hours after a whole day's walking.  Nice ... :)

My GSS Weekend

Since the start of GSS, I only began my shopping last weekend apart from the lanyard I bought last week.  It's totally unintentional.  After our dental appointment at Central on Sat morning, the "70% discount" was too appealing to ignore when we walked past a boutique.  We went in & the very much surpressed shopaholic in me broke loose ..... :P

After an economical hi-tea at Grand Mercure Roxy, we (no, I) continued shopping at Parkway Parade ...

Sunday morning, after drinks at Dempsey & brunch at Novena's Lao Beijing (yes! my fav Peking Duck again :D), we continued our shopping.  This time round, for our home.  We bought a TV for our living room, a long awaited purchase as our current one started to give problem since last year.  We thought it's a good time now as Courts is having GSS sale.  We also bought a smaller one to replace mum's... & it's an upgrade for her :)

Just a weekend but lots of money spent.

New Toy

Called vPost on Wed to enquire more about the delivery timing.... just so I could try to make sure that mum was around to receive it. If I missed this delivery, I would have to wait till Sat to get it from the post office but I was too excited to wait till weekend to try my loots! But their response was exactly like what hubby told me earlier on. If only hubby still working there, he'd have performed the same stunt he did 3 years ago - I bought a set of clip-on hair extension from UK & wanted it urgently. So hubby monitored my shipment & once it reached the processing centre (not sure what exactly it's called), he intercepted & got it just before COB! :P

Anyway, I still got my new toys that evening! :D

My Friday look. Colleagues thought I permed my hair!
It's supposed to be curlier but I 'un-curled' a lil as preferred it that way for a start.
The colleagues said it looked nice! Hee.

Jose Eber Pro Series Clipless Curling Iron

So these are the 2 hair sprays that caused delay in having my parcel...

Sedu Moisturizing Heat Protecting Boost

Sedu Beach Beauty Sea Salt Spray
The coconut scent is soo nice to smell! And it's effective in keeping my curls.

After more than 12 hours, the curls still looked ok;).

Love how easy the curls can be achieved. Just couldn't do it right in the past when I used curlers with lots of curling lotion.

Can't Wait !

Made 2 online purchases from different sites end of last month. Both with free shipping within US... so great, thought I'd use vPost again. The last time (but it's like 4 years ago?) was quite a pleasant experience & saved about half of the shipping costs if sent direct.

Told them to ship the 2 purchases together. Both were delivered to vPost USA without any hassle. But for 1 of the purchases, vPost asked for the Material Safety Data Sheet for the 2 haircare sprays I bought. Asked from the merchant, F, & we're told to contact their manufacturer. Called the manufacturer & after passing us around & putting on hold for more than 20 minutes, they said they couldn't provide as it's supposed to be F who'd provide. So we're extremely stuck... having my purchases stranded at vPost USA with F & his supplier refused to provide what was required. So grumpily we made a call to F & after another long round of on-hold music & then with us trying to explain our situation to them, they said would look into it & revert. When I previously bought one of such sprays from F & got it shipped direct to me, I didn't have any problem. Guess that's the advantage of paying more to the merchant for direct shipping.

We're contemplating to have the parcel returned to F & then shipped directly to us. That'd be another long process with additional costs. So thank God that after a few days, F came back with 1 MSDS... only for 1 of the 2 products. But we thought that's good enough.

And while we're corresponding with vPost on this matter for almost a week (with the different timezones, their responses were R-E-A-L-L-Y slow), without asking or notifying me, they 'silently' went ahead to send the other parcel of falsies to Singapore prior to receiving the MSDS of the other parcel. Hallo~? They don't listen to instructions!? So! Double shipping costs!!

SoOo upset. Thought would save us quite a fair bit by consolidating my purchases.. who knows! Ended up having to co-ordinate between various parties & take weeks to get my purchases. But have checked... we still save about S$40 on shipping. And I know, next time will only use vPost for dry items.

Got my box of falsies last Thurs... Happy:) And been tracking my F products & it's just reached Spore last night! :D Can't wait......

Mani Interest

The last 2 weekends I sorta experienced the life of a manicurist, hehe.

I DIYed gel nails!
A trip to MagicBoo, a beauty products wholesaler/retailer (great recommendation from hubby dearest!), led to a damage of about $100 & an interest in DIYing my nails.
Gathered a few other lacking items from Far East Plaza & voilà, this is my very own Gel Nails Kit! ;)

This my 2nd attempt. The 1st was quite a mess.. so I redid it 2 days later on Mon when we're both on leave.

This was done last Sat. Much better but still got lotsa room for improvement. The nail on my ring finger is actually an extension that I did. Not bad at all right? :)

Total bill for this kit - $240 (including the UV lamp that's @ a cheap price of $42). I just need to do 2 nice sets to break even... & I'm already 1 down, haa (hopefully it lasts at least for 3 weeks though)...

You see, once you start to do gel nails there's a high tendency you get hooked. Or is it a self-justification?:P For CNY & some other special occasion I think I'll still go to my manicurist as she does a really great job (but very ex.. + extension + french + Christmas/CNY surcharge = $140!). So on normal days when I just want my nails to look polished & maintenance free, this a good way ;)

But it's definitely no ez job. Thousands of kisses to my honey who's, as usual, so ever supportive of what I want to do... ran around with me in search of the missing products, not only once or twice... even in the late evening all the way from home to AMK! And staying awake into such 'early' hours just because his wifey has taken up a new interest & at exploration stage..

I'm very sure now hubby knows about gel nails even more than many ladies out there, hee!

Purchases

Besides bringing back more fats on us, I've done quite a bit of shopping. Poor hubby couldn't really find great buys... he only managed to buy 2 items.

Very nice almond cookies. Gave my colleagues some... at first they're not too interested but after eating they loved it. Chunks of almonds with melt in your mouth cookie. Hand-carried 2 boxes (24pcs in each) back & still not enough!

When mum went to HK last year, she bought a pack of 公仔面 for us & I find it nice. So we brought 2 packs back;)

Picked some alcohol from DFS on our return - Chabot ice wine

Bailey's with a thermal bag as free gift. And 6 bottles of Hoegaarden :)

Great buys from Argyle Centre (旺角中心).S$8-S$10 per piece except the middle one (about S$5+).

My favourite buys, except for the first piece (@S$12). The cardigans were @S$5+ each only!!

Pants @S$10 each. The light grey piece looks nice & is comfy but the black 1 doesn't fit too well. Need to find a way to improve it.

Hubby's polo tee & my blouse... both, unbelievably, @S$2 each!!!

Accessories @$3! Bought for Con & June too. & hubby's cuff links @ S$10 ;)

Sabrina asked us to help get this ointment (平安膏) for her hubby, KT. We bought for ourselves too. It's really quite good so we got a dozen for ourselves too, hehe.

The Last Week of 2010

We started Christmas shopping early & were done about a week before the actual day. So I could afford to wrap a few presents each night & got them all ready on eve of Christmas Eve. Besides attending our church's Christmas event on the eve, I'd nothing else to do! I wasn't really used to being so available as in the past, I'd be busy trying to finish all the gift wrapping... Ha! But of course we're more than happy to have a relaxing Silent Night, with some beer & DVDs ;)

Presents in the inset were for my colleagues... they're wrapped & brought to office days in advance as quite a few went on block leave the week before & after Christmas (since 24th was an official off day; same as 31st & we'd 2 days credited to our annual leave too!:D)

We're blessed with many presents... hubby's on the left:) 1 of hubby's colleagues was so generous to give us bird's nest!

Hubby gave me a very pretty handbag from my current favourite brand (Gracious Aires) & a pair of 'V' cufflinks from me to him ;)

On New Year's Eve, we went on a shopping spree of beddings again (like the past few years, haha). First visited Robinson's in Centrepoint but we're disappointed with this year's post-Christmas sale as there wasn't further discount for members. So we went on to Taka to see if there's any interesting buy. Thank God we did. There's much attractive sale & we bought 2 full sets of bedding set & many towels. We spent our New Year's Day at home & around the neighbourhood... had a great rest :)

Our Shopping Loots from KL

Got quite a few cheap & nice items from this trip :D

All my RM25 purchases except the grey piece, which was @RM19. I wasn't allowed to try them on so very happy that they all fit well :)
My recent craze is long tops to match my skinny/tight pants & jeans. I especially love the orange 1 with a see-through lacy back (original price @RM69).. Like the black dress too (last piece), been wanting to buy a casual dress like this. @S$10.50, it's a steal!

The grey shorts @RM25 too & the denim one @RM10 (S$4.20 only!!). And yes, it fits.. hee.

I love the black jacket from Times Sq. At first I didn't wanna buy it as it's relatively more ex (@RM65). But I missed it much... so hubby brought me back the next day to get it :)). The slouchy cardi in grey @RM25.

I finally found the 'Volume Hair Base' (at the top of the pic)! I tried to search in Spore but unsuccessful... & found it in a very small shop in Sungei Wang instead! And guess what?? It's hubby who discovered it when we walked past the shop! So cheap.. bought it @S$5.50 after a 20% discount. It's selling online @US$15!

Some nice shirts for hubby

The cutting of these 2 pants from Times Sq & bermudas fits hubby really well :)

Exchange rate: S$1= RM2.39

Some Recent Great Buys

Shower Radio, its literal name as it's designed to withstand water splashes & hence meant to be used in bathroom :)

Marks & Spencer's Fiery Ginger Beer. We love it.

Recliners for the both of us so we can watch DVDs in our room comfortably :)

Lemongrass for the living & lavender for our bedroom/bathroom... Nice!

An excellent find in Marina Square to put my favourite bags & stuff

New?

Earlier this year I was at 77th Street & saw this pendant.

Priced @ $35 & the lady said it's a new arrival.
But you know what.... I bought it in Bangkok during one of my work trips in MAY 2004, @ around S$12 (it's already expensive to me as my budget for pendants in Bangkok was S$6-$8 each).
So 6 years later, it's still considered new?!

I've vivid memory of it because the day I returned from Bangkok with the pendant on 31May 04, I attended my primary school alumni night & proudly wore the pendant to the event.

Nice Monday

On Mon we both took leave - to kill Monday blues & to pamper ourselves (to pamper me mostly!:P).

Started off with an early lunch at HK Kim Gary Restaurant.
My Cheese Baked Rice with Chicken Wing (荷叶鸡翅芝士焗饭) set lunch that comes with chicken & corn soup + coconut pudding with red bean + drink

Hubby's Country Set Lunch with soup & drink

My lemon coke & hubby's 特制香港奶茶

A lunch like this costs S$14.

So you know where we had been? :)

Hubby had his hair cut at Yean Yip

I had hair treatment there too. Paid S$82 (RM188) for scalp + hair treatment. Saved about S$30, given the length of my hair.

Right after my hair treatment, I had pedicure (@ S$16.60) & had my long-overstayed gel nails removed @ RM60. Would have cost me S$40 to S$50 to do it in Singapore.

The main purpose of this trip was to get more Skinfood products ...
(clockwise from top left):
Black Raspberry Eye Cream @ RM89.90 (not available in Singapore)
Rose Cheek Choc @ RM27.90 / S$12.20 (vs S$16.50 in Spore)
Salmon Darkcircle Concealor @ RM46.90 / S$20.50 (vs S$32 in Spore)
Parsley & Mandarin Toner @ RM42.90 / 18.80 (vs S$32.50 in Spore)
Seaweed Cleansing Cream (makeup remover) that worths RM32.50 was FOC. I have collected more than 70 stamps from my past few visits & was entitled to redeem any product up to RM398.

To date, I've bought more than 10 items from Skinfood as (so far) the products are quite good on my skin:) My last purchase before this was on 6 March...

Agave Cactus Prime Gel @ RM88.90 / S$37 (not available in Spore)
Agave Cactus Sun BB Cream @ RM89.90 / S$37.50 (not available in Spore)
Aloe Moisture Ampoule 100 @ RM118 / S$49 (vs S$80 in Spore)
Avocado Lip Balm @ RM28 / S$11.60 (vs S$17.90 in Spore)

I like these products as they react well on my face & the Aloe Ampoule was especially the best deal so far...

Had 2 treats of ice cream during this trip - the usual Baskin Robbins and Berry McFlurry (yummy!)... Fattening!!

We love these day trips... good getaways for a few hours with great purchases :D

Though this round the exchange rate was not that favourable (S$1 = RM2.28)... hope it'll be more attractive on our next visit...
