Movie
This afternoon, we watched 500 Days of Summer at GV Grand. I was chewing pop corns for more than half of the movie. Shortly after I finished the pop corns, I dozed off ! And I've never slept in cinema before....
Then I woke up, just in time to catch the last bit of the show. I must have looked funny, if the gal next to me did notice, there I was busy eating pop corns half the time, the next minute when I wasn't eating, I fell asleep... hmmm.
Glad that the movie was free.

Eventful
Started off with a Japanese movie "Handsome Suit" on Thurs night. Very entertaining, a no-brainer movie. But the lady sat next to hubby was even more entertaining... during one of the trailers (17 Again), her repeated exclamation "ooh.. so handsome" was too loud to be ignored. Then, she'd break the silence as her sudden laughter rang through the cinema, when there's nothing funny at all. I wonder if her friend would feel embarrassed... or maybe she's already used to her friend's eccentricity.
Fri morning... we had breakfast @ Thomson Plaza's Hans. While having our late breakfast (@11.30am), June called & suggested lunching together & named Thomson Plaza! That's too coincidental! So we stayed around for another hour before they arrived. During which we browsed in Video Ezy & rented 3 DVDs. Went home after lunch & started our movie marathon. Enjoyed the 1st one - "The Other Boleyn Girl". Nice. I've always liked movies of that era... from "Elizabeth", "Marie Antoinette" to "The Duchess" etc... I like that they're part of the history. It's a lil similar to how we felt when we visited Versailles & Old Lyon...
Right after, we re-watched an old show "Addicted To Love". In its midst we had an interval & went Chong Pang for dinner with mum. Didn't derive as much satisfaction as from the first movie...
We're adventurous enough to start on the 3rd - "Made of Honor". But only 15 mins into the show, I dozed off! Too exhausted.
Saturday.... we attended my department lunch at my boss, WL's, place in Holland Village. Hubby has talked to WL a few times at my office lobby when he met me for lunch... but it's the first time he met the rest of my colleagues:) After lunch, hubby sent me to Telok Blangah to treat my back. At night, completed the show which we started the previous night.
Sunday... had a full-day unplanned program. Sent mum to church. Had breakfast nearby before attending the wake of Celena's grandma in Teban Gardens. Then we're back in Parco... meeting Vince's siblings at 1pm for lunch.
After lunch, we walked to The Bencoolen as Ben wanted to get a watch for a gal;) Brought him to this watch shop which hubby & I patronise whenever we need to buy a watch (for ourselves or for others)... have also brought quite a few of our friends there.. & they've always given us very good discounts.
When done with the 'mission', we decided to go for a KTV session.
Then followed by dinner at AMK's Astons.
By the time we headed home, it's about 9pm & both of us had been out for exactly 13 hours. The initial idea was just to bring Ben to the watch shop but thought that since we're meeting him, might as well ask the rest for lunch. Didn't expect the program to be flowed to the night. But we had fun:)
We usually plan the minimal for Sundays... hate it when the fatigue is being carried forward to Monday. We just detest Mondays (unless it's a PH or if we're on leave:P)!
So yes, we're on leave last Mon!:D First half day was spent in TTSH as FIL went back for checkup. Afternoon, we ran some errands.
And very quickly, that's the end of our 4-day long & interesting weekend....

It's a LOVE-ly Saturday
Had buffet lunch at Royal Plaza on Scotts' Carousel. Don't think we would be there again. Not too bad on the spread but didn't manage to whet our appetite.
When we're done with lunch, had just enough time for me to remove my gel nails in FEP before catching a 4.15pm movie (Look For A Star) at Lido; we used the vouchers given by one of hubby's aunts so it's free!
It's a dreamy show but we love Andy Lau ;)
After the movie and a big tub of popcorns, we shopped around... Thought of getting a pair of flats but couldn't find anything suitable.
Left Orchard before 9pm, only then that we decided to make a short visit to sis & niece who're in Sentosa and sis had been persistant in inviting us over.
We left Sentosa around 11pm... the island was sure crowded with couples as well as families!
As for presents... hubby bought me a set of Korean beauty products. Used them for a few days & have since fallen in love with this new brand especially the BB cream & rose powder which is so fine, so light & set my makeup so well! :) Its skincare range is good too... so far my oily & sensitive skin is adapting pretty well to these new products.
From right - Rosa Davurica Loose Powder, BB cream (my 5th or 6th BB cream?), the additional travel-size compact case for my loose powder.
The skincare products from Kelly Water:
From left bottom (clockwise) - Anti-Winkle Eye Tox Repair Cream, Soothing Moisture Drop, Lip & Eye Remover, pH Control Water, Water Balance Essenserum.
All thanks to Ruth's recommendation! Now, will see when I can get my open pores fixed so as to bring the best out of my new makeup set. Am also contemplating getting the Essence Concealer for my eyes... hmmm....
As from me to hubby.... a boxer for his low-rise jeans :P

Our CNY celebrations
What's in the pot:
Abalone, Shark's Fin, Fish Maw, Dried Scallop, Prawns, Mushroom, Chicken Drumstick, Cuttlefish Ball, Broccoli, Lotus Root, Cabbage, Beancurd Skin.
Reunion dinner with inlaws & family was steamboat, as usual. Guess I've grown to enjoy it together with everyone in the family. Left AMK slightly past 10pm & we brought our car for a wash. Back home, got the ang paos ready & prepared the goodies.... what we always do on CNY Eve.
CNY Day 1:
Reached AMK at noon. We're getting later & later every year... tsk tsk... Idled around & also had some small chats here & there. And of course the annual photo taking session! ;)
Hubby played a few sessions of card games with the siblings & uncle.
See, fat uncle's showing off his cards!
Can't do without the family pic every year
About 4pm, we left AMK & visited daddy, then had an early dinner in Northpoint's Xing Wang Hong Kong Cafe... the only restaurant that was opened on 初一 and served a very decent meal. Thereafter we returned home, had just enough time to take a shower & redo my makeup. We're meeting again at 8.30pm for a movie at J8. Hubby & I would rate the movie 1.5/5. We didn't think highly of it even before watching but it's all for the family get-together.CNY Day 2:
We stayed at home for the whole day. Sis & bro came back for lunch (as Cantonese, we've this tradition of having '开年饭' on the 2nd day). Aunts & their family came in the afternoon so we stayed around to catch up with the cousins. In the evening, hubby & I played mahjong with sis & mum.
CNY Day 3:
Went to 5th aunt's (mum's 5th younger sis) in Toa Payoh for lunch.
Took some shots after lunch & while waiting for aunt no.6
6th aunt & hubby finally arrived after being late for nearly an hour. We went on to another aunt's (mum's late brother's) in Kim Tian together. Hubby & I left 3-ish & went to Vivo for a movie. Right after, we rushed to attend my ex-secondary classmates reunion at one of the guys' place in Pasir Panjang. Was interesting to see quite a few familiar faces after a long long time.CNY Day 4:
We took pleasure in lazing at home, with a few short trips to the neighbourhood for meals. Nice :)
CNY Day 5:
Left home before noon to catch a movie at Tampines Mall. Last week was the week that I watched the most movies in a week. That's because hubby was offered a GV VIP Pass which means we're getting a pair of complimentary tickets per movie for a year. So we'll see ourselves watching many movies this year ;)
Headed back home after the show. After a short rest, we went out for dinner with mum before going to bro's.
CNY Day 6:
It was a busy day packed with consecutive visits. The first was June's at noon in Sengkang.
"Back to the Basic" pose with June's very oriental vase.. haha
Then to one of Vince's colleague's in Punggol for a late lunch. Had a very interesting chat with the wife of hubby's boss... exchanged beauty tips;) Stayed there for 2 hours & we left for the third destination - Gina's (da jie) in Bukit Batok. Supposed to be a poolside affair but the other girls arrived too late so we just stayed indoor, at her place.Been such a long time since we last took a picture together...
The gals stayed for dinner but we had to go. Meeting hubby's family for dinner. We'd booked a table at Swa Garden in MacPherson only to realise they only served limited variety during CNY period. This very old restaurant is hubby's & my most fav teochew restaurant, thanks to the good recommendation of one of hubby's colleagues. You've to make a reservation especially on weekends otherwise chance of getting a table as walk-in is very slim. Anyway we planned to revisit when the normal ala carte menu's back. Ended up having "zhi cha" at a coffee shop nearby. The food was not too bad.The night didn't just end there. After sending MIL & BIL back, hubby & I went for a beer at this chill-out place near our home, called Flamingg Mango in Sembawang. A pint of Hoegaarden costs only $10! And they're so generous to always give much above the 50cl mark.
It's a lovely night. We chatted about those days before, when & after we knew each other... our past relationships... how things started between us... It never fails to tingle my heart & set a blissful smile on my face whenever we talk about how he first noticed me & tried to gain my attention. We left home after about 1.5hr, feeling so loved & contented. We're very glad that the night ended on a lovey-dovey note.
CNY Day 6:
After fetching mum from church, had lunch with sis at Suntec's Crystal Jade. Sis' treat! Hee. We'd yu sheng too. After lunch, we visited daddy. It's so fast, it's been 3 years.
For the entire afternoon, we stayed around... feeling a lil depressed that our holiday was ending very soon.
The first 2 days of work were really tough, getting the mood tuned back & catching up with work.
Our company's CNY Lo Hei on my first day of work.
Next to me was the Deputy Chairman.
Lo Hei!
My 4th this year and the 6th for hubby!Singing time

Movie Date
Last morning, sent mum to church and then to meet her sisters as they're going for a 3D2N stay at another sister's place in Pontian, Johor.
So we blasted our SATC movie in the living room. Too lazy to be out for dinner so utilised our stock:
1st course - Farmland nuggets (our favourite among all other brands)
2nd course - 生面皇干捞面 (that is, Instant Noodle King's dried noodle)
3rd course - Ikea Blueberry Cake
Haha.
And we had Ikea's Kopparberg Pear Cider (4.5%) as beverage for the evening.
By the way, the Blueberry Cake was good.
Ikea's Blueberry Cake.
My no.1 selection is still the Apple Cake... very yummy with vanilla sauce/ice cream and especially delicious with crushed walnuts or almond flakes as topping. They don't taste at all like those typical ready-made pastries/cakes. And the best part's they're not expensive;)

Finally, the long wait's over!
Been on a lookout for the release of DVD ever since the movie first shown in end May. Months had passed & nothing displayed. One day (about 2 months ago), we finally asked a staff from Gramophone & he told us that the DVD of SATC movie was banned in Singapore. We're like "huh?... but we already watched in cinema.. why banned then?" And we're disappointed.
Then last Sun, hubby spotted it when we passed by TS Causeway Point! Hee! This'll complete our collection ;)
We've already scheduled it to be our Sunday night entertainment. A great way to spend our PH eve. And yes, will be watching it for the 3rd time!
With some popcorns perhaps, honey? :P

A Great Evening
Hubby had plans to treat me to the movie this evening (I mean Fri night) but was sold out nearly a week before the show... except a few seats on the first row. It's quite a disappointment as we've been so looking forward to it for months.
Then when the Media Director of GV knew that Mr Soh had failed to secure seats to bring his wife to the show, he had 2 tix of the 2045h show couriered to hubby!:D Prime seats - 2nd last row, right in the middle of the screen which were supposed to be already taken up when hubby checked online days ago. When hubby asked him how he did that. he refused to reveal. Hmm..
Anyway, we're really delighted with the pleasant surprise.
So we had dinner at Great World City right after work as the show's at GV Grand. It's a full-house, even those front row seats were all taken.
Got to watch the additional half-hour footage which is only showing in 2 of GV cinemas to make it a nearly 3-hour entertainment. We both thoroughly enjoyed the movie... it felt so good to be watching the continuation of the series and we left the cinema with a big smile of satisfaction on our face. :)

This CNY
初一:
Had lunch @ in-laws'.
Amusing ourselves :)
Family photo
Planned to go for a movie together that evening. A few of us seconded CJ7 while the rest for Ah Long Pte Ltd. Eventually, we gave in. So in the late afternoon, after hours of snacking, bumming around & photo-taking, we walked to AMK Hub to get tickets for the 8pm show. Then some bites & chats again at Mac's.
Went home to take a shower before meeting again at the cinema lobby. Hubby, June & I were queuing for popcorns & drinks when I took a glance at our 8 tickets. And to my horror, I thought I saw 4.30pm on the tix. Took a 2nd & 3rd look in case my eyes were playing tricks. Still 4.30pm, date: 7 Feb. It was 7.50pm then. Told June & hubby & we all went blank for a moment. Went to the ticketing counter & spoke with the girl who issued us the tickets. She admitted it's her fault & re-booked us on the following evening's show as that night's slots were all taken up by then. We're very unhappy for having to make a wasted trip but frankly it's our mistake too for not checking. 6 of us went to get the tickets but none checked. Hmm...
初二:
Had lunch at home, like every year's 初二. Then went to 3rd aunt's (MIL's sis) place.
Sent MIL home & met again in less than 2 hours for movie. Thereafter, we all drove to Sin Ming for supper at the famous prata place.
Reached home near 12am.
初三:
Lunch at 5th aunt's (mum's sis) place. Then to another aunt's (mum's brother's wife).
After the visitings, we sent mum & another aunt & her hubby (this one's 6th aunt) back to our home. We supposed to go for a movie but hubby didn't mind giving them a ride first :) Good also... I could claim my parcel from the guardhouse earlier. I made an online purchase & hoped to have it before CNY but it only arrived on Sat. We're all out when the UPS guy called. Told him to leave it at the guardhouse. Upon reaching home, I called the guardhouse so we wouldn't have to wait. But the guard said nothing for me! And there's no one by the name of Mustafa!
Just when we're wondering whether it's wrongly delivered to the development next to ours, the UPS guy called to confirm our suspicion.
Yeah! Finally got my mis-delivered article :D
Hubby checking our mailbox
After solving the mystery, we headed to Causeway Point, intending to catch CJ7. But tickets were sold out for the 2 time slots that we wanted. So we went ahead to have an early dinner @ Crystal Jade.
One of the lions who passed by our table posed for hubby... "It" was so near us that it couldn't fit into our camera hehe.
Returned home right after dinner... the earliest among the last 4 days (on CNY Eve we reached home also close to 12am & only slept at 3am+!). Watched [Lust, Caution], borrowed from hubby's colleague.
Sunday, besides the usual errands, we caught up with some rest.. but still not enough. And the thought of going back to work was just dampening.

And more errands
The last one started with a visit to the nearest GP as I had a sty on my left eye. Thereafter, had lunch (MacDonald's) & next, to AMK Hub's supermarket... bought fruits for mum & some other stuff. She loves fruits & we'll try to replenish every other week so she doesn't have to lug a few kilos back from the market.
Then hubby went for his haircut appointment at this salon - Cut & Curl (June's recommendation) & while waiting, I opted for a herbal scalp treatment for myself. Consequently hubby waited an hour for me instead :P I think the treatment was quite good but after my hair was done, I smelled like a chinese herbs pot!
After spending 5 hours in AMK central, we went for a very early dinner at Aston's, Serangoon Gardens. Also rented some DVDs from Video Ezy... so we finally watched The Wedding Date together :)
