On cloud 9

This morning my dear honey, with a very serious expression on his face, told me that today will be the last day I go to work as MS LOKE! Hee!

Ok, here’s some recaps.................

[Ritz]

A final meeting with RC 3 days ago.

It has been a very pleasant experience preparing for our wedding reception and we believe good communication with our Wedding Consultant is a very important contributor. Whenever we convey our ideas & preferences to him, he’ll understand in an instant & get it done exactly the way we want it... in fact most of the time he'd do more than what we’ve expected!

Their service’s excellent. I mean, to be honest our event may only be a “small fly” to the hotel but we feel so important by the way they treat us. The Wedding Consultant is really patient with us. Like during our last meet-up (it’s also his 1st day back to work after a 3-wk reservist & you could imagine the amount of work piling up after the long absence), he gave us all the time we needed to finalise each item. At the end of it he asked us several times whether we’ve any other things that need to be clarified, to be checked out, gave us some advices, etc...

I should say he’s very prepared & well in loop with every single detail.. didn’t seem at all that he’s lost touch with our event for a month.

Ha! Looks like I’m really impressed with them huh. My fiancé is very happy & relieved that I’m pleased because... yes yes it’s me, the fussy 1...

[My Bridal Dress]

Went for my final fitting on Wed evening.

Waited for quite a while before the whole place belonged to us! Took our time to choose the matching accessories & hairpiece & my honey’s cravat..
Will collect everything on Sun.

And my designer told me their florist said shouldn’t be a problem to do the type/colour of flowers & design I specified for my hand bouquet. Yippeeeee!

[Meeting with our Main Coord]

Had dinner with PY last evening.

Passed her whole stack of schedules & checklist in full details. Very nice of her to start helping me from now on... She’s just contacted my Wedding Consultant as we require some additional items. So glad I’ve chosen the right MC as she knows so much due to her past working experiences as an SQ girl, in hotels & with M.A.C. And the suggestions she gives are always sound.

Oh, there’s 1 joyous yet disappointing news: Our xiao-mei has given birth to a BB boy yesterday morning! We’re all very sad that she’s gonna miss my wedding... What to do, our lil Cedric can’t wait any longer. He looks really cute... hehe.. We’re gonna visit her this evening & show her our wedding pix to cheer her up!

Final Countdown

Yeah yeah… so our counting down has officially become a single-digit!! I literally wake up every morning & tell myself it’s 1 day nearer to our BIG DAY!

We’ve been asked by every1: “so how’s the preparation?” Our answer: “90% done!” The remaining 10% = the albums/final fitting & collect gown/last meet-up or final discussion with our co-ordinators/mani&pedi (be done a day before WB)/flowers for WB (done on actual day) …

“Test-floated” 2 tea lights on the pool Sun night & it looked great! Believe it’ll look even much better with more on that evening… Hehe… both of us so happy that the method we’ve thought of (making the tea lights float) works out perfectly! Now just pray for fine weather.

All my ex-colleagues except 1 are going to appear! Real touched that they are so supportive… Well, in fact it’s the 1st time all of us (present & former) get together.

Plan to start packing our stuff very soon. The bedroom corner is piling up & gonna categorize them into 3 groups – WB, actual day & for our house.

The housing matters are running concurrently as well. Things are looking very good & we’re waiting anxiously to get the keys mid next month.

Updates

My honey told me yesterday that his big boss likes our invite very much & she had asked for our permission to use it for promoting the company's My Stamp service. The other couple who's asked to do the A&P - celebrity DJs Glenn Ong & Jamie Yeo. Hmmm.....

In fact all our friends who received the invitation complimented the stamp. They found it nice & special & envied that we got them complimentary :)

Well.. we're counting down anxiously to the 2 events. Nothing much to do now.. the remaining pending issues can only be settled in due time, like collect albums, final fitting, meeting with our co-ordinator will be done during the last week.

O yes, we've finally decided to get a professional videographer and have already confirmed 1. But will still have a "part-time" to take some scenes when there are 2 seperate activities going on concurrently, eg. when Vince setting out to win the bride & the situation @ my place, tea ceremony @ the bridal suite & the checkings @ the wedding venue downstairs etc. Why such decision? Afterall I still feel the most important is the video (than fotos) which many people think otherwise. To me, fotos are not as alive as video and most likely on that Day we'll too busy to notice some things & processes and watching the video can bring back wonderful memories & perhaps also some candid scenes.

Met up with this young videographer (husband-wife team) & we're rather impressed with his works & pricing, taking into consideration what're included in the package. So booked him before I went on my business trip.

Gettin more & more excited ... hee ...

rush rush

Had a real great time on Tue evening with my jie-meis! Our da-jie gave us their (she & her hubby) early well-wishes together with an angpao. How sweet she is… but I still can’t beat the disappointment that she’ll not be able to attend our wedding. Plus our xiao-mei is expected to deliver end of this month… hmmmm…

About the RC cards, my honey had aggressively chased our printer yesterday & finally got confirmation from them in late afternoon that the cards were ready for collection. Already 9pm+ by the time we reached home. Stayed up till rather late & managed to finish more than half of the writing. Will carry on tonight + attach the ribbons to the over-lays. We were so excited to see the product of our preference & at the same time, very nervous as afraid we'd write wrongly. Also have to be patient in doing the ribbons as the over-lays are a lil flimsy. Aim to complete the bulk for mailing by tonight so that Vince can give to SP tomorrow. They need about 2 weeks in total to do My Stamp & mail out. And we are already very late!

My Wedding Gift

My fiancé bought a solitaire for me as wedding gift. The stone is bigger than the 1 he used to propose to me He saw that I don’t really have any presentable white-gold jewelry to wear (besides the proposal ring) on our Wedding so decided to pamper his bride! (Will stick to costume jewelries provided by the BS for necklaces & earrings.)
Circle Of Hearts
Discovered a mistake in the receipt only when we reached home & went back to verify the following day. Were served by 2 badly-trained & ill-mannered staff, 1 of whom had made the mistake. And now we’re not happy at all with their after-sale service.

As for the lovely gift from my honey, I can’t wait & have been wearing it since the night we bought it… Hee…

We’re thinking if it were to look a lil worn out by then due to scratches, will bring it for plating again when nearing the Day.

Gd news !

Yeah!! Just received an email from my ex-colleague, LL, that she & her hubby & their lil gal are moving back to Singapore from Melbourne!! The biggest [YEAH] is that they’ll be able to attend our wedding! What a great news on a blue blue Monday… hehe!!

Talking about LL…. she’d played a significant role in bringing about this wonderful relationship Vince & I are enjoying now. During the early part of our courtship when I was harbouring lotsa doubts & fear in being with Vince, her support & advice would always shed some lights onto my pessimistic outlook in life. It’s because of her encouragement that I dared the first step to cross the hurdles in various aspects of our relationship.

Ok some updates on our wedding …
- Got more ribbons last Sat as well as materials for some art & craft session (for our decorations). The shop lady gave me a 5-min “intensive” lesson & she nearly vomited blood for the blur look on my face & all kindsa questions. Nevertheless, tried making 1 piece yesterday & then did a mock-up… my fiancé was impressed with the set-up.. Hee! He’s always so encouraging! Well, believe I’ll do better & better with more practice.
- Had almost finished writing the WB invites, meantime waiting for RC’s too. Been told by the printer that they’ll be ready mid of this week but we’re preparing for last minute delays.
- Also busy asking for addresses from relatives & friends. Guess some friends are too used to the e-world as they asked me to email them the invitation. Of course we can but somehow feel that it’s still not as good as by snail mail, perhaps because of our customized stamps? Hmmm…
