twelve cupcakes

A lil farewell gift for the tea lady in my office; yesterday was her last day of work.
She, from China, had been very nice.  During the few weeks when I was coughing very badly, she served me 2 pots of hot water (1 in morning, 1 in afternoon)... I'm very grateful because only Partners & Directors are served with beverages.

Some pretty cupcakes & God's words for her :)

My GSS Weekend

Since the start of GSS, I only began my shopping last weekend apart from the lanyard I bought last week.  It's totally unintentional.  After our dental appointment at Central on Sat morning, the "70% discount" was too appealing to ignore when we walked past a boutique.  We went in & the very much surpressed shopaholic in me broke loose ..... :P

After an economical hi-tea at Grand Mercure Roxy, we (no, I) continued shopping at Parkway Parade ...

Sunday morning, after drinks at Dempsey & brunch at Novena's Lao Beijing (yes! my fav Peking Duck again :D), we continued our shopping.  This time round, for our home.  We bought a TV for our living room, a long awaited purchase as our current one started to give problem since last year.  We thought it's a good time now as Courts is having GSS sale.  We also bought a smaller one to replace mum's... & it's an upgrade for her :)

Just a weekend but lots of money spent.

An Unplanned Monday

On Monday, I cleared my last day annual leave for this FY.  We woke up pretty late.. @ 10, without any plans for the day ...

As hubby loves pizza, we'd decided to have it at Spizza, @ Jalan Kayu :)

A good deal!
A 12" pizza + 4 crispy wings + 2 drinks only cost $23 after a 50%.  And the dessert & tea after lunch were only less than $7!
But no nice restaurant ambiance there ;)

At lunch, we made a decision and after lunch, we went to trade in hubby's phone for a new HTC One X!  This phone is so good that we want hubby to have it too :)

Then, next stop was Ion.  Suddenly I wanted to find a nice lanyard for myself after thinking for a long time.  After almost 2 hours of shopping, I finally bought it.

Agnès B lanyard

It's very nice to pass a Monday this way :)

Father's Day

Father's Day steamboat lunch last Sunday.  It's also gift giving day as June's, Con's & Ivan's birthday all in June! We spent the whole Sat looking for pressies.  Suddenly we felt Christmas came early, haha.

Yesterday we're out the whole of Sunday afternoon/evening & we saw many families having Father's Day dinner.  For a moment, I really missed dad...  Yes, it's a blessing to be able to celebrate with your parents.

God is so good.  Through our nightly devotion, just last night He told me that I still have the perfect Father in heaven to love me even though my earthly father is not around.  I feel so comforted.  Thank you, loving God, Heavenly Father :)

D Addiction

I've always been a dessert lover.  Tong sui, cakes, ice cream .........

So when I was finally feeling better from the month-long cough (& after sans sweet stuff for slightly more than a month), I gave myself a generous treat of dessert!

Last Fri night (8 Jun), I had panna cotta @ Caffé B, MBS.

On the same night before heading home, minutes before midnight, I'd a nutty cheese cake at High Society.
I think the panna cotta I had earlier was a lil too small to satiate me, hehe.

The next day, while waiting for hubby who's attending a movie event at Lido, I enjoyed a Strawberry Shortcake @ Canelé + 1 pot of Chamomile + 1 pot of Lemongrass decaf tea :)

We've bought a tub of durian ice cream before our KL trip.  But I've been sick since then.  We did manage to relish a bit during the week when I felt better.. just a few spoonful.
The whole tub is still waiting for us in the freezer ....

The worst dessert I've had for the past 2 weeks gotta be this from The Canopy.
With whipped cream, black glutinous rice & fruits.  Those marshmallow lookalike were some sugary biscuits didn't blend in with the dessert at all.

Guess I was too greedy too fastt... & I was surrounded by many virus carriers in office while I was still weak.. my cough had, yet another, relapse :(((

After another week of coughing, now I'm better.. with doses of western & TCM medicine & some herbal tea specially brewed by mum (she went all the way to Chinatown to buy the necessary herbs)... and I gotta be good, at least for a while more ;P

Early Breakfast

At 5am. Before hubby goes for his Runway Cycling @ Paya Lebar Airbase :)

Mt Sapola

Mt Sapola's Lavender.
It's ex!  But we tried other more economical ones which were not useful.  So this is still the best scent for our master bathroom :)website statistics

Love?

Can you actually fall in love with someone without meeting him/her? If it's 15 years ago, I'd have said yes since I was there! But hey, for someone who's lived almost half a century, I thought would have more life experiences to indulge in dreams or easily believe. Likewise, can a man of same age declare love for a woman he's never met, to the extent that, after only a week's long distance chatting on the phone/messenger, he could send a day a love poem?

Perhaps there really is ........ one in thousands?

Fruitful

Last weekend, I felt accomplished.

On Sat morning, went to Serangoon Gardens to settle banking errand and had a long lunch at Shin Kushiya @ MyVillage.  Thereafter, had tea & dessert at the Canopy Bar in Bishan Park.  We stayed there for almost 3 hours, searching information & making reservation for our anniversary celebration :)  The hotels are much more expensive towards the end of the year!  So lots of time was spent in shortlisting the right hotels... especially after the Fahrenheit Suites incident.  We've so far pre-booked 2 hotels & been having a hard time choosing the one we prefer most.  Well, the good news is... we still have a few months to decide.. just hope that along the way, I won't shortlist more hotels! ;)

So if God permits, we'll make a 5D4N trip on the week of our 7th Wedding Anniversay :D
