Yesterday

Just had a short casual chat with a French guest of boss who's based in Seoul. He said yesterday was a public holiday in Korea, so will tomorrow & Fri be. Wow... 3 P.H. in a week! That'd be very very nice if we get to enjoy the same in Singapore. Hmm... But not too bad for the coming PHs... though 1 day'll be wasted as it falls on Sat (yes WE'RE NOT COMPENSATED if PH falls on a Sat) & closely followed by another 1 on Tue. Then long weekend for Christmas. Especially good during the New Year holiday that coincides with Hari Raya... A 4-day long weekend! The same long weekend during CNY. C'est très très bon! We're gonna benefit for our Melbourne trip & we may extend to 8 days... meaning we'll just need to take 3 days leave.

Yesterday took time off for the medical review @ TTSH (for my migraine). I'd actually decided to forego the appointment as been feeling well with my head except during those few days of flu. But my neck's giving me problems recently & I suspect it triggers other discomfort I've been feeling as well, so still went ahead to see the doc, just to clear my worries. Behaved like a problem patient prepped with many questions... also asked him about the "imbalance of inner ear circular canals" or the "inner ear vestibular system" that's been nagging me as I've been having occasional mild dizzy spells. Seemed like I'm ok to him, much to my relief. He must be thinking what a paranoid & problematic patient he has!

Too late to go back to office after the appointment so I went to a salon in Toa Payoh for hair treatment. This salon was aired on tv few weeks ago so wanted to try them out. Not long after, hubby joined me & he'd a hair cut. The service's good... very attentive & customer-oriented & didn't try to hard-sell their products. We may or may not go back... for hubby's haircut & hair treatment for me as it shouldn't go too wrong. I'll still stick to Justina for all my chemical treatments & haircut.

Then we'd a quick dinner before proceeding on to make the Samsung X820 mine! Hee....
Were deciding among a few... 2 of the 3 in the ultra edition (the other 1 was D900 slider) & E900 touch-button (like LG's Chocolate). Eventually decided not to spend too much, so the ultra slim X820!

Hubby should be getting his very soon too. Think he's too used to having the same phone as me. Hehe.

Hi Kelly,

You have migraine too? Me too hehe... I was seeing Dr Lee Sze Haur @ TTSH for a while till I kinda stopped going.

I figured since I don't have any brain tumour (after the scan in 2002), and the migraine will come back on and off, then I just gotta live with it. :)

Rather that then to pop pills everyday.

Hello Chinn Yih,

Oh you too!? I'm seeing Dr Timothy Young but I find it a waste of time. I, too, was concerned whether there's anything wrong with my brain but the report showed that I'm fine. I dared not tell him I didn't take the medicine he told me to take daily. Dun wanna be too reliant on med tho he said it's totally alright.

Seems like we've quite a few things in common huh. Eg. you'd your ROM @ Ritz too, your wedding anniversary is only 1 exact month from mine, you used to c a specialist for migraine @ TTSH's NNI too.. hehe... ;)

u gals can add me to that list...migraine sufferer for the past 4 yrs, before that was tension headaches.
I take Ponstan, it seems to help. Never made it to the neurologist cos i figured its pointless..

oh by the way, Ann here

Hey Ann! Welcome to the Migraine Club, haha!

Ponstan has no effect on me, most of the time panadol can do the trick tho unless I dun pop it soon enuf. Then I used to take more of Cafegot as docs told me I could take up to 6 in a row, meaning 1 hr ea & no side effect. Sounds scary rite? But I restricted myself to take only 1 ea time. Stopped totally after I was admitted to TTSH in July when I had a brain xray. The docs @ TTSH was a lil taken aback when told them I was on Cafegot. They said it'd enlarge(or narrow?)...can't remember wat exactly they said.. but it's something to do with the blood vessels in the brain & that could be dangerous.

Oyes.. one thing is.. do you gals wash hair @nite? I used to do it.. as late as 12am bcos I usually dun get home early. But my sis nagged & nagged saying my headache/migraine has something to do with the nite washing. So I've since stopped washing my hair once the sun set. Perhaps it's just a coincidence but my migraine is gone almost completely. Nevertheless, will continue to monitor ;)

hey i hate cafegot and anarex cos of the side effects of making me very weak even the day after and making my eyes hurt...so ponstan works for my migraine, period cramps and ovulatin pains too...yep lots of pains for me haha

Different painkillers work for different people. In my case, Ponstan, Cafegot and Anarex don't work for me. Only Celebrex works.

Same here. I didn't take the preventive medicine regularly. I hate the idea of having to take medication everyday. Yucks.

I wash my hair at night but dry it with hairdryer before sleeping. I think my migraine has got to do with shoulder and back aches. Coz when I ask my hubby to massage my back (near the shoulder blades) when I'm having a migraine, the pain is kinda relieved.

true, i have very bad neck pains too...its totally stiff! I can even hear cracking , crushing sounds when i move my neck but i have yet to go for a massage. keep putting it off. My migraine is also light sensitive so i love the house to be dark, a bit of glare and im done for. Another medication is synflex. Strong but works for most. I usually tolerate the pain until it lasts more than one day. Only then will i give up and take a pill. Washing hair doesn't affect me though.

Oh Ann... I can definitely identify with the cracking sounds haha! And the light sensitive thingy. I will scream the whole house down if my hubby comes into the room to draw the curtains or switch on the lights. It's so bad I just want to lie there quietly.

Think swimming breast stroke helps for me. Coz my migraine started in the uni when I could spend hours bent over my tutorials.

So Kelly, how did the consultation go? Gotta go back for further checks?

Yesyes... been having neck pain too! A sinseh also said my neck & shoulders were very stiff during 1 of the chiropractic (tui na) sessions.

Think migraine is one of the worst sicknesses I ever have so far. As simple as it may sound, with it I can't move an inch without feeling nauseous! Which means I can't even function normally with my daily activities when I'm hit by 1.

Chinn Yih - The doc gave me an open appointment, so I can call them any time should I feel anything not right. I hope I don't need to see him again.. Thanks for asking ;)

I guess sometimes I'm being a lil too paranoid. Like when I feel my right hand a bit numb (like some needles poking) & the giddiness which sometimes cause me to lose a bit of balance, I was worried there're stroke symptoms. And coincidentally I felt some pain in my right leg.

I'm a troublesome person with much health problems... sigh....

Hey girls, i can safely say i got health problems too...i thought i had some stroke signals a month back when my left eye started twitching non stop every single day, through out the day...doc said to monitor...colleague said eat bananas and true enuf it has stopped.

This chinese doc told me my neck is sooooo stiff it means im very stubborn...yeah u bet...

Having very sharp pains nowadays in my hand too, cos of excessive typing i suppose...

Oh and might i add i broke out in a rash all of a sudden, arms and knees...

See...as unhealthy as a.. i dont know what...Its all stress i tell ya...

Take care!
