Look forward to some catching up with quite a few old friends. Coincidentally TM will be there the same time as well so we plan to meet. But the best has got to be hubby joining me later & we'll be having a short holiday there. Woohoo!
Especially miss the super delicious char siew @ Jalan Tengkat Tong Shin. The first time when I visited this very run-down but famous shop (called Meng Kee), which was more than 5 years ago, I was totally turned off (but wasn't nice to say no to him so I stayed & am glad I did!). Yet no one seems to mind the unhygienic surrounding as they presumably sell the best char siew. Each piece comes with a charred sugary coating of fats that melts in your mouth.. oohh... And hey, don't think that it's cheap ok.
Hubby loves it too. Whenever we were there, we'd definitely visit this place more than once during our stay. Last year, we even bought some back but sadly, it wasn't as nice after being kept in the luggage for a few hours.
Yeah.. next week we can have our fav char siew again! And what's more, a short getaway!
